Trentmoller: The Trigbag Chronicles

Before the incredible success of Trentemoller, there was Trigbag, a duo consisting of Trentemoller and DJ T.O.M.. While only dissolving after three years, they were still able to make a large impact in the house and techno scenes.  Native Records have released several of these tracks, and with the jumpy high BPMs, it sure sounds aged, but definitely not dated.

Trentemøller - XLR8R Podcast 135

Denmark’sTrentemøller initially made a name for himself by skating the line between minimal techno and and electro-tinged house, often crafting epic songs that catered to both the mind and the body. In 2010, however, Trentemøller is garnering attention for the severe left turn taken on his second album, Into the Great Wide Yonder. The Copenhagen-based artist has headed into darker territory, relishing in psychedelic dirge and more organic sounds, and this new style is reflected strongly on this exclusive mix he completed for XLR8R. Segueing from pulsing beats into guitar squall and thick distortion before dabbling into druggy wonk and cathartic pop, Trentemøller has assembled a mix that’s a far cry from the average night at the club.

Bowie: Object

09.26.2010 NEWS: DAVID BOWIE'S BOOK OF ONE HUNDRED ARCHIVE OBJECTS

The solid book he wrote can not be found just yet...
Sadly, this is one of those stories that has leaked out way ahead of our intended announcement.
It first surfaced last week on the Publishers Weekly site and it looked like it had slipped by unnoticed for a few days. But, as ever, we didn't reckon on some of you eagle-eyed spotters out there.
We still don't want to give too much away just yet, suffice to say that David Bowie has been working on a book entitled Bowie: Object.
There's no firm publishing date in place, but we can give you a little more detail.
Bowie: Object is a collection of pieces from the Bowie archive, wherein, for the first time, fans and all those interested in popular culture will have the opportunity to understand more about the Bowie creative process and his impact on modern popular music.
Bowie: Object features 100 fascinating items that give an insight into the life of one of the most unique music and fashion icons in history. The book's pictorial content is annotated with insightful, witty and personal text written by Bowie himself.
Designed by BarnbrookBowie: Object is simply and boldly designed and each of the objects is photographed in a clean, contemporary style.
The publication will be available in a number of different colours, making the book a striking object in itself.

EG.124 Steve Bug

Germany's very own taste-maker, trend-setter, mover-shaker-extraordinaire Steve Bug is a multi-faceted artist who refuses to back down from the limelight. A dedicated, energetic and constantly surprising talent, Steve is nothing less than an electronic music ambassador, a much-loved spokesman to the people, and for good reason.
'Growing Up' in Germany's techno and acid-house heyday, Steve Bug's love for a perfect groove is as apparent now as it was back then. From the very early days DJjing in Bremen and Hamburg it was clear there was a strong talent waiting to be nurtured. With a bit of encouragement from Superstition's Tobias Lampe, Steve's very first productions were released in 1993 and his musical story began. Besides this his DJ skills and keen, innovative, ear led him not down the typical path of the early nineties trance and harder dance scene, but towards a fresher, hybrid sound merging stripped deep house, tweaked out acid and more minimal forms of techno.
